The Technical Symposium on New Metal Enclosure Systems Was Successfully Held in Tianjin.
The “Seminar on New Metal Enclosure System Technologies,” co-organized by the Metal Roofing Technology Branch of the China Building Waterproofing Association and the Envelope Systems Branch of the China Steel Structure Association, and supported by Beijing Dongfangcheng International Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully held on November 26, 2019, at the newly constructed plant site of Dongfangcheng Company in Lutai, Tianjin.
The “Seminar on New Metal Enclosure System Technologies,” co-organized by the Metal Roofing Technology Branch of the China Building Waterproofing Association and the Envelope Systems Branch of the China Steel Structure Association, and supported by Beijing Dongfangcheng International Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully held on November 26, 2019, at the newly constructed plant site of Dongfangcheng Company in Lutai, Tianjin.
The main topics of this seminar were “New-type Detachable Metal Insulated Curtain Wall Panels” and “Applications of Stainless Steel Metal Roofing in Industrial Buildings.” Participants included standard‑development organizations, national research centers, design firms, testing and certification bodies, envelope system suppliers, and contractors. During the event, attendees also visited the newly constructed plant of Beijing Dongfangcheng International Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., located in Lutai, Tianjin.
Factory Tour
The newly constructed plant of Dongfang Cheng Company is located in Lutai, Tianjin, and was designed with the Chinese traditional motif of the “dragon” as its guiding theme. The office building serves as the “dragon’s head,” while the “dragon’s body” and “dragon’s tail” are comprised of four workshops each serving distinct functions.
Encouragingly, the entire plant‑site roof has been developed into China’s only comprehensive demonstration zone for metal roofing technologies. The roofing system comprises six distinct metal‑roofing configurations, including 360° seam‑locked profiled steel sheet roofing, 270° standing‑seam aluminum‑magnesium‑manganese alloy roofing, stainless‑steel profiled‑sheet interlocking‑joint roofing, stainless‑steel profiled‑sheet welded roofing, single‑ply TPO membrane metal roofing, and insulated sandwich‑panel roofing. Roof forms encompass both single‑ridge, double‑slope roofs and curved roofs. Additionally, the roof is equipped with integrated ventilated skylights, daylighting windows, light‑transmitting strips, rooftop piping, maintenance and inspection platforms, as well as gutters and rainwater‑drainage systems, thereby delivering a highly visible demonstration effect.
Technical Seminar on New Metal Enclosure Systems
The seminar was chaired by Cai Zhaoyun, Secretary-General of the branch association, and Yin Minda, Executive Vice President, presented an overview of the current state of affairs in the industry.
Experts engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics including the application of sandwich panels in industrial and civil construction, key system considerations for welded stainless-steel roofing, and technological advancements in the inspection and assessment of existing buildings. Participants actively contributed to the dialogue, offering valuable insights and recommendations on the development of metal enclosure systems and proposing innovative ideas for the advancement of new materials and technologies, creating a dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The branch will regularly convene specialized technical symposiums aimed at fostering industry-wide dialogue, advancing technological innovation, and promoting the sector’s balanced and sustainable development.
