Policy Analysis | The “Work Plan for Ensuring Steady Growth in the Steel Industry (2025–2026)” Has Been Released
Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the “Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in the Steel Industry (2025–2026)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”), which sets out a clear direction for the high-quality development of the steel industry and its upstream and downstream steel‑structure sectors.
Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the “Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in the Steel Industry (2025–2026)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”), which sets out a clear direction for the high-quality development of the steel industry and its upstream and downstream steel‑structure sectors.
The Plan, aligned with objectives such as ensuring steady growth, promoting transformation, and expanding demand in the steel industry, sets out a number of key tasks. Among these, the provisions directly relevant to the steel structure sector include:
Actively promote the large-scale application of steel structures in residential buildings, public facilities, and small- to medium-span bridges, thereby expanding market demand.
Support the establishment of a full‑industry‑chain cooperation mechanism for steel structures, foster steel‑structure construction industrial parks, and promote the development of industrial clusters.
Encourage steel structure enterprises to engage in collaborative innovation with downstream industries, thereby elevating the sophistication and sustainability of their products and services.
The introduction of this policy will provide clear policy support and market opportunities for the steel structure industry, while also raising higher standards for companies’ technical capabilities and their pursuit of green, low-carbon development.
