On November 29, 2019, the sixth executive council meeting of the first term of the Beijing Steel Structure Industry Association was successfully held at the Lutai Base of Beijing Dongfangcheng International Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., a vice‑presidential unit.

Association President Hu Yong, Director of the Association’s Expert Committee and Deputy General Manager of Beijing Urban Construction No. 16 Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., Gao Naishe, and Deputy Director of the Expert Committee, Zhang Yikun; Vice Presidents of the Association: Duo Yuegang, Chairman of Beijing Dongfangcheng International Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd.; Chen Huazhou, Chief Engineer of the Northern Region at China State Construction Steel Structure; Su Lei, Vice President and Chief Engineer of Beijing Jianyi Investment Development (Group) Co., Ltd.; and Qian Su, Director of the Steel Structure Department at Beigangxie Shengdi International Architectural Engineering Design Co., Ltd.; Executive Directors: Jin Hui, Director of the Industrialization R&D Center at Beijing Residential Building Design Institute Co., Ltd.; Shi Yesen, Deputy General Manager of Jincheng Huagang (Beijing) Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd.; and Chen Ge, General Manager of Beijing Jijian Zhucheng Technology Co., Ltd.; Supervisory Board Members: Sun Baocheng, Chairman of Beijing Forbidden City Paint Industry Co., Ltd.; as well as Association Secretary-General Chang Haijun, representatives from the Association Secretariat, and over 50 other attendees. The meeting was chaired by Association Secretary-General Chang Haijun.

The meeting reviewed the Association’s work in 2019 and discussed its plans for 2020. In 2020, the Association will focus on Party building, standardizing and serving the industry, supporting member enterprises, strengthening internal governance, and building… brand name The association and other entities should perform their duties effectively in four key areas.

Chairman Duo Yuegang provided an overview of the Dongfangcheng Lutai base. He stated that the Lutai project involves a total investment of RMB 250 million, is located in the eastern industrial park of the Lutai Economic Development Zone, covers an area of 147 mu, and boasts a total floor space of 63,770 square meters. The facility comprises production workshops, an R&D building, and supporting infrastructure, with a designed annual capacity of 70,000 tons of steel components, 2 million square meters of Kewo panels for metal curtain walls and enclosure systems, and 2.7 million square meters of profiled steel sheets. The base has introduced fully intelligent robotic automated welding, specialized robotic workstations, and upgraded CNC technology as well as advanced Italian Puma equipment, along with a complete set of automated, intelligent cutting and assembly systems—reaching internationally advanced standards and laying a solid foundation for Dongfangcheng’s future growth. Therefore, we hope that, as you continue on the path of development, you will keep working hand in hand to strengthen the company, serve the steel structure industry we deeply cherish, and uphold the sector’s commitment to social responsibility and public service.

Gao Naishe, Vice President of the Association, Director of the Expert Committee, and Deputy General Manager of Beijing Urban Construction No. 16 Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., presented a summary report on the Expert Committee’s work in 2019 and outlined his vision for 2020. Mr. Gao emphasized that the Expert Committee serves both the Association and its member enterprises, acting as a strong support system for the Association and its members. While the Committee boasts a wealth of expertise, he pledged to further strengthen its development by expanding beyond the industry’s immediate scope: starting with the entire steel‑structure construction value chain, the Committee will gradually bring in experts from every link in the chain, thereby broadening its functions and extending its services.

At the meeting, Executive Directors—including Zhang Yikun, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the China Iron and Steel Association; Chen Huazhou, Chief Engineer of China State Construction Steel Structure Co., Ltd.; and Zhu Xiaodong, General Manager of Beijing Beipao Light Steel Building Materials Co., Ltd.—each delivered remarks on the development of the steel structure industry, the Association’s 2020 work plan, and both the institutional strengthening of the Association and the broader sector’s growth, offering valuable insights and recommendations.

In his concluding remarks, Hu Yong, President of the North Steel Association, noted that in 2019, the Association’s work was solid and highly efficient, with groundbreaking achievements in Party building. The Association’s efforts earned high recognition from the government, the industry, fellow association members, and its constituents. Amid a broader trend of Beijing-based enterprises relocating elsewhere, the total number of Association members continued to grow steadily. Looking ahead to 2020, in light of developments across the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region and nationwide, the Association will undertake even more initiatives. Beyond providing platforms for learning and networking, we will create and establish a direct market‑oriented platform that extends beyond the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei area, gradually expanding its influence across the country. We will also work throughout the entire industrial chain, broadening our scope and delivering more substantial, practical services to our members.

During the conference, delegates jointly visited the Dongfang Cheng Lutai Base, whose overall layout is inspired by the “dragon,” a symbol of traditional Chinese culture. The roofs of the entire plant have been designed to resemble, at present, the largest such structure in China. Only The demonstration zone for integrated metal roofing technologies features a roof composed of six distinct metal roofing systems, including 360-degree seam‑locked profiled steel sheet roofing, 270-degree standing‑seam aluminum‑magnesium‑manganese alloy roofing, stainless‑steel profiled sheet roofing with interlocking connections, stainless‑steel profiled sheet roofing joined by welding, single‑ply TPO membrane metal roofing, and insulated sandwich panel roofing. The roof designs encompass both single‑ridge, double‑slope configurations and curved forms. Additionally, the system incorporates recessed ventilated skylights, daylighting windows, light bands, rooftop piping, maintenance and inspection platforms, as well as gutters and rainwater drainage systems, thereby delivering significant demonstrative value. Participants commended the construction of the Lutai base and advancements in intelligent manufacturing, while also expressing appreciation for the achievements of Dongfang Cheng over the past three decades.
